L'immobile, estremamente indicato per i veri amanti della natura, quiete, riservatezza e relax, è totalmente immerso nella stupenda e lussureggiante vegetazione dell'Appennino Tosco-Emiliano.
L'edificio, comprensivo di 11 locali, indipendente, si estende su circa 250 mq + 500 mq di giardino. Si erge su due unità a due livelli, ma facenti parte di un unico corpo:
la prima unità, completamente rifatta, ospita il garage, un'ampia cantinetta, un salone (circa 50 mq) con caminetto "Palazzetti" rivestito in pietra e con canalizzazione per immissione flussi aria calda al livello superiore.
L'altra, con facciate perimetrali in pietra, a vista, totalmente restaurate, occupa al piano terra: ingresso, cucina, stanza armadi (o piccola cameretta), bagno e camera grande.
Al piano superiore: bagno, cameretta mansardata e altre due camere grandi.
I tetti sono stati rifatti completamente con coimbentazione e canalizzazione di raccolta acque piovane in rame.
Tutti i bagni e le stanze hanno infissi in legno con vetri termici, mentre i vetri del portone d'ingresso, della cantinetta e del garage sono anche di sicurezza.
La zona denominata "Catino", che riveste interesse storico-culturale dato che lì fu edificata la casa della Patrona del Paese "Beatrice", e che ancora conserva intatte vecchie capanne in pietra con copertura dei tetti a lastre, un tempo adibite ad essiccazione di castagne e deposito frumento,
si trova a circa 2 km da Pian di Novello (a monte) e a circa 3 km da Pian degli Ontani (a valle).
Dal luogo in questione si impiegano circa 10' di auto per raggiungere l'Abetone così come per arrivare a Cutigliano, il Melo, Dogana, S. Marcello Pistoiese, Piteglio, non si impiegano, in media, più di 15 minuti.
Pistoia è raggiungibile in circa 30 minuti mentre a Firenze si arriva in un'ora.
Il nuovo Piano regolatore comunale non prevede in zona costruzioni di sorta; in poche parole si potranno ristrutturare gli immobili esistenti se non ampliarli (quest'ultima voce prevede però condizioni particolari) ma non si potranno costruirne di nuovi.
Il "Catino" ospita, oltre all'edificio in oggetto, un terratetto, due capanne già citate, ed altra unità abitativa a circa 50 metri. Percorrendo un piccolo sentiero boschivo si arriva (2 minuti) al torrente "Sestaione".
Un caratteristico ponte in legno permette di attraversare agevolmente il corso d'acqua. Lungo il bosco poi vi sono numerosi sentieri che permettono di raggiungere senza difficoltà luoghi e paesi vicini.
Per accedere all'abitazione ci distacchiamo dalla Provinciale e percorriamo un primo tratto di strada comunale insinuata nel bosco, quindi si prosegue, nell'ultimo tratto, su strada privata a fondo chiuso.
Il fatto che la strada termini a fondo chiuso comporta la totale assenza di transito veicolare esterno.
Il vicino paese di Pian degli Ontani è caratterizzato da una conformazione prevalentemente pianeggiante e quindi percorribile anche a piedi con estrema facilità.
Vi si può trovare ogni sorta di negozio ed altre struttre indispensabili: vi sono infatti due alberghi a tre stelle, la Chiesa, Posta, Banca, Farmacia, Ambulatorio Medico, Macelleria, Falegnameria, Ferramente, Mesticheria, un fornitissimo Minimarket, Forno, Merceria, due Bar, Discoteca, Tabacchi, Giornali, Campi da calcetto, Tennis, Piscina, Pizzeria e Ristoranti.
